I recently purchased an older boat that had this particular motor and had a bad stator/black . Per the machanic this was a known issue with motors from 94-97 that needed to be replaced with a Red stator. Any of you have this problem with your motor and did mercury do anything to cover the cost of the bad part?

Any input would be greatley appreciated.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin		The motor is a 1994. Mercury is not likely to warranty a motor that's been in service for 15 years.
