Location: Onalaska, WI | I would appreciate input on your experiences--accuracy, navigation vs. fishing detail etc..
I'm particularly interested in the NW Angle.
I'll be using it in a Lowrance LCX-18C.
Thanks,

| lakemaster by far, it is more accurate and detailed and you dont want to be taking chances out there with all those rock reefs. i used the lakemaster on LOTW last year and it was extremely precise. the detail definatly helps your fishing too.

Location: MPLS, MN | I have not used Navionics but make sure you look at the range that's covered on the chip and where you are planning to fish if you buy Lakemaster, many areas I fish are not detailed at all. |

Location: Oswego, IL | I agree with Muskiemetal. Lakemaster is the best 2009 LOTW chip out IMO. Works great even in handhelds. |

Location: Elgin IL | I recently purchased a new 2009 North chip LAKE OF THE WOODS from navionics at Cabelas.I had a real early chip I think around 2001 and paid 300.00 and was really happy with it had all the reefs and hazards marked. I traded this chip in for the 50.00 rebate....BIG MISTAKE... Now for the chip.....Wow All those Depth contour lines look pretty .I personally think they clutter up the screen. I really don't care about those 20 and 30 foot reefs (not a walleye fisherman).I found several mistakes which included wrong color markers (north of Cyclone Island 3 red buoys and 1 green buoy this chip has 4 red buoys)Several reefs were removed and what really was maddening was some reefs were replaced with 18' contour lines, and it gets better NO red route lines. So any time I was traveling to new areas I had to re check with my map to make sure those 10 12 18 foot contours are not reefs. This felt like the old times driving with my map in my hand .I will contact navionics and ask them questions about these issues and if I can purchase my old chip back. I will add contour lines might be nice for my Fall fishing trips. |
