We caught this 47" beast trolling today on a local lake, she was super thick and just a sow, could not believe our eyes once we got her in the net, we raised a few other mid 30s and lost one other one boat side, over all it was a exciting day, we were blessed to catch a fish of that magnitude right in our back yard. Thank you fish gods

Yes there has been some beast coming out of Illinois lakes, I would not be surprised if we start seeing some 50s one of these years.

No need to mention the lake, I believe that is the first lake in IL to receive muskie....I caught one as a youngster camping there in the late 70's..fun lake for sure, but if someone is trying to mask the lake, we ruin their efforts...it is like knocking the fish off your buddies line while netting it on purpose because you did not hook the fish....

I did not catch the fish, my buddie Bob Dixon caught it, but I feel it was a team effort, I set the lines and loc on the reels, when the rod went off I handed him the rod and coached him on what to do, it was only his second musky ever.

if they don't want anyone to know what lake they shouldn't even post anything about it. it took me 1 second to figure out where it was caught, besides how many lakes are around Rockford? I only know of one that isn't 100% developed and its.....

BenR is right on the money. If someone wants to post a a picture and obviously not want to mention the lake we should show a little respect and not post "Nice "----" Lake fish" That was a no class move and I'm glad the post was deleted.

Yeah Fiedler I know, Most of the time it's not hard to figure out what lake it is, but that doesn't mean you have to blurt it out. Most guys on here can make a guess about every picture on this site. I'll also say that there are more lakes in No. IL that aren't common knowledge than you think. Most private in some form, but some not....and the reason they are not all over the place is because guys are respectful of others wishes.

Nice Fish Big Man. Great job on getting your friend a piggy

Fortunately the lake name was removed from both the photo title and from my initial post (which was to point out that the lake name was quite evident... looks like it worked).

Anywho, again, great fish BigMan and Boober! I'm sure it's a day you two won't forget for a long time. Also, Bigman, you've got a PM.

Glad to see Illinois fish just keep getting bigger every year, With CPR Illinois could be a true Musky destination soon, I don't know if that's Good or Bad
