I am heading to Cass lake for a week of Musky fishing for the first time. What colors work best on this lake, is there a night bite? any info on areas to fish would be greatly appriciated. thanks Ike

I've been told Black/Orange smaller type of marabou bucktails work well... but I like natural and clown/bright colors, anyways I've seen most of action on Jakes, Bucktails and glider baits. The cabbage growth is great in some areas. I have not fished it yet this year. Good Luck!

Ike,
Do yourself a favor and contact Brian Jones at First Choice Guide Service! His number is 612-730-9620. I have never met anyone with more knowledge of Cass Lake than Brian! Great guy, and a better stick!

Most of the fish are still really deep this time of the year. As far as color we always did best on bright and natural colors.

Try allens bay section of the lake. I've found fish up shallow right off the reeds. Try topwater in the evening. I managed a couple of fish out of here last weekend. Goodluck.

I am going to have to agree with Todd and suggest that you hire Brian Jones. He is very knowledgeable of the Cass Lake Chain and is a great guy to fish with!
