| Can someone tell me how to safely get rid of hard water spots on a lowrance LMS -520C depth finder screen. I have tried 2 different kinds of glass cleaner with no luck.
I know vinegar works well on hard water spots but I am not sure if it will damage the screen.

Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | I put a couple coats of Rain-x on mine. It removed the water spots and now the water just beads up and rolls off. Keeps the screens crystal clear. |

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I haven't tried it myself. But I've been told by a number of people that a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar will do the job and won't damage your screen.

| i use Clorox Bathroom Cleaner and a microfiber cloth.
works great for getting rid of hard-water spots and doesn't harm the screen.

| once you get them clean a great way to keep them clean is by cleaning them every time you put the boat in the water...I do every time at the landing while my buddy parks the truck..Bytor recommended Pledge All Purpose wipes and they work great, resealable pack that you can use one wipe many many times...don't let hard water stains build up is the easiest way to do it...
keep them in the boat and handy and clean the screens before each outing.. |

Location: Antioch, IL | I would also add that anything you use should be sprayed/applied to a towel/cloth first then wipe the screen. Never spray directly on the unit. Lots of these products will discolor and eat up the plastic frame and rubber buttons. |
