Worked all weekend at the FLW on Leech and Metro tournament, so no water time for me until Monday night. How'd the Muskies treat you this weekend?

I finally got my first for the year, a beat up 31" male on a Creeptonite. Saw a few nicer fish, had a few strikes from decent fish as well.

Got this 41" on Waubesa Saturday a little after 10 am but it's also a good story. I was using a Daiwa Luna 300 which I had just bought a week ago. Fish hits the top raider and I set the hook hard and then nothing. I reel and I am getting no resistance and I see the line is slack. I just couldn't believe that the fish bit me off with a 12" wire leader and I start swearing up a storm. I start reeling in the slack line and see that the level wind is not moving. After a few nice comments about $260 reels I begin handlining the slack line into the boat when I realize the fish is still on.

Waldo grabbed the net and I handlined the musky in to the boat all while praying the fish wouldn't go on a big run with superlines in my hand. For some reason that fish just hit and went straight to the bottom and laid there.

Saw 4 on waubesa sat morning. One was low-mid 40's. Algae has come in on the south end. I was worried that we would'nt get any action. They all came in pretty lazy.

Eric,

Was the 52 the one caught by the bridge in the river channel? I seem to remember hearing something about a 52 caught by a guy bass fishing in the river.

8 hours on the water, 4 rips in total, just these two little guys. BUT, it was enough to feed Nikki and the Rumbleknott boys.

Satuday I fished for about 5 hours and lost a mid to high 30 inch fish and had a couple follows. Both follows were high 30 inch fish.
Sunday My dad and I fished a new body of water and never saw a thing.

Saw lots of fish. They were very boat shy. Had one follow ten times. It would be 2 to 12 inches off the lure then about ten feet from the boat it would turn away. I stopped my shad rap one time and let it float up to the surface right where she would turn. She came up and sniffed it 1/4 inch from the rear treble then turned away. Had a low 40's hooked Friday and lost it. My partner hooked a nice 41 1/2 on Sunday at 1 pm.

Got my biggest tiger at 41"es. Had 8 other fish up (4 missed strikes, 4 follows). All action was in an hour window and the other 14 hours of fishing was dead.

Took the nephews shore fishing for bass on Sunday afternoon for a little while. Caught a few nice ones, beautiful day to be walking a lake shore in N. WI.

Fished 16 hours Sat only to see 6 fish. 3 between 7-8 in the morning and 3 more between 7-8 at night. The rest of the day dead. Most fish were just follows 2 missed top raiders in the evening.
