Last night out for 3 hours had a mid fourties get off ten feet from the boat. She hit light and was running at the boat. I thought it was a little bass till I saw it turn when she saw the boat. By then it was too late. Wish I would have set the hook harder. Had a 40ish follow that should have bit but my partner spooked it as he cast not seeing the fish next to the boat.

Tonight I hit a high 40's in the face with the leader as it missed my lure on the 8. Needless to say he took off in a hurry. Had another follow in a different bay that was around the same size as well.

So far 0 for 4.Hoping to change that soon. Seen multiple fish everytime out. Just not my lucky day yet. Something seems to go wrong everytime.

Still not my day. Saw a low 40's as I pulled away from the dock tonight. Cast a couple times and went on. Didn't see a thing. Got back and my first cast off the dock with a black mania doc had that same fish come up and follow for about 15' in it's wake then hit. Got it up to the dock twice but couldn't reach the net. Called my aunt down to grab it. As she was dipping the net into the water the fish turned and popped right off. It was barely hooked in the corner of it's mouth and I should have known to loosen my drag but in the heat of the moment I didn't even think to in time. He got off as I was reaching for the star.
