Has anyone used this reel from Shimano. Seems like it work well for many different things. Has a huge power handle, levelwind, and pushbutton engage. Just looking for an opinion if anyone has more information on the reel. Pretty pricey though at around $400. Thanks.

You need one, go snatch that one up at The Sportsman! I cant say enough about my 700 TE. Shimano makes an OUTSTANDING product, far above the rest.

Doesn't have a counterbalanced handle, which can cause the reel to engage midcast. Sweet reel, but you'd be better off getting a power handle on a TE.

I would for sure get rid of the stock handle, it is for jigging not casting, and replace it with a ZPI SLV. 92mm CARBON handle with stock Calcutta paddles.

They are but U can install 2 bearings per paddle for a smooth feel, AND THE HANDLES WILL NOT FLEX UNDER LOAD.
