Hey,

My local little musky haunt was recently treated by the D.N.R. for weeds, I presume milfoil. Most of my fishing friends and I didn't really see a big problem but now the lake looks like a moonscape. Completely clean other than lilly pads and a few small patches of cabbage. The water is also now considerably much more clear.

The new conditons will take a new approach the last time out all the fish seemed to have vacated the shallows and are in or directly adjacent to deeper water. Any tips on past experiences dealing with sprayed lakes are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Greenduck, I live on cloverleaf and they chemically treat every spring. It is done usually by the lake association not the DNR. A few years ago they would treat weeds when the water was too warm thus killing every weed in lake. According to our local bioligist he said that they should not chemically treat after 70deg. We lost alot of nice cabbage beds and they haven't seem to ever come back. All my complaining seemed to work they usually treat in early spring when the water is in the 60's.

I have found fish seem to be very deep for a week or so after they treat.
