| Just wondering if there are any kayak musky anglers out there? I have been doing it for 2 years now ( needed a change) and am loving it. Have caught 3 in the yak so far this season.. no big ones but they will come!

Location: Northwest Wisconsin | I fish for muskies out of a kayak and canoe. It is a nice change from the bigger boat every now and then. It's a blast to have follows so close to the water. I haven't caught one in a kayak yet, hopefullly soon. I bass fish out of a kayak also, biggest so far is 25 inches. It is a lot of fun and can't wait to do more of it this summer. |

| Fishing for musky out of the yak is great, I am a bit of a wuss though, I made outriggers for mine. only have caught one so far, a 35" which had my rod buried into the water nearly to the reel. I am going to have to go back out in it again it is ALOT of fun. They scare the S%^t out of you when it happens! I will have to get a pic of my rig and post it.... anyone else out there got a good 'ski rig for kayak or canoe? |

| I started out fishing Muskies out of a kayak. When on the river I can get into places you just can't get in other boats . I have had good success for sure. It's hard to carry that big ole tackle box though. |

Location: Minneapolis | I see you've got a net in your yak. How do you use a net that's big enough for a big fish when you're sitting down? Seems like it would be awkward. I'm curious, though. Some of the small lakes and rivers would be way easier in a yak than a boat. |

| I am using a feel free Moken. I have the 12 footer. It is more manueverable than the 13 that the have and it also has a wheel on the bottom of the stern so you can drag/move it with ease "this is a huge feature". The net is a little tricky . I cut the handle down on one of my old nets so it is easier to use . I place it in one of my rod holders right behind the hip area so I can get to it easily. |

| I started out Muskie hunting from a kayak. I've done loads of bass fishing from it because it allows me to fish anywhere I want rather than just where my john boat can go. When I got into Muskie hunting I felt like I had a "silent" advantage" by sneaking right into the eddies with them.
The first one I ever caught was a nice 40 incher. The experience of the ensuing battle is something I will never forget. Multiple jumps and runs and then dealing with it from a seated position right next to it was awesome. I was able to net it and measure it while my buddy, also in a kayak, snapped some photos before a successful release. We have since been teased by this same fish on multiple occasions.
I've caught a few more from my boat and everytime it has been a blast.
I paddle a Moken by Feelfree. It is a sweet fishing boat with all the features and space I need for all my gear. I take an 8.5'' x 14'' plastic lure box and it holds more than enough lure options for a day on the water.

Location: Stevens Point, WI | There are some spots on the WI River here that it is really hard to get to in even a jon boat. I have been seriously thinking of getting a kayak just for this reason. We have had many multi fish days in these areas, but spend half the time just trying to get there, ruining props. |

| The other thing about netting BIG fish is if you are fishing with another person, both have a net and the person who does not have a fish on can net the other persons fish. This has worked well in the past with bigger ones. |

| Hey Guys, The other guy on here called jah1317 makes some really neat muskie size lure wallets! I think they hold like 10 or so muskie lures. They are perfect for fishing out of a kayak! Maybe he can post a few pics. Sometimes I just throw a few lures in mine and take it instead of dragging the big lakewoods!

Location: Right Here | I've got a kayak that I fish out of a lot in the summer, but I've never had the nuts to muskie fish from it yet. I've thought about it pretty hard, but it's the whole landing process that makes me nervous.
I'm curious to see what you guys do.

| To me it depends how the fish is hooked. If it is not hooked too bad ....I have unhooked it right in the net and released it ...Not even taking it out of the water. If it is hooked deep I have paddled to shore with it safe in the net and done the hook cut, release from there. Typically though right beside the boat still in the net works best for me. It is alway easier if you are fishing with a partner but thats not always the case. |

| I have tried to "troll" with my kayak but honestly I did not know what I was doing so it did not work too well I.E. no fish. I am thinking that when you geta rip your gonna have one heck of a lean  ! It shoud be fun though!. Musky 24/7 made mention of my wallets here earlier so I am posting some pics, I have a sit in kayak and I throw 2 in which is 20+ lures and they hardly take up any space. When fully loaded and closed they are 10.5"X5" tall X 3.5" thick.
