| Jeff Hanson's years of hard work and endless hours of dedication to being a professional muskie guide paid off big time this week in Madison, WI.
Not only did Jeff produce the first confirmed muskie over 50" on Madison area lakes, but he did it twice! Over the span of 8 days, his Tuffy played temporary host to a score of big fish, including a 40", two 42", a 43", two 48", a 50.5", and a slob of a 52" fish!
The two biggest fish were caught on crankbaits, with the 50.5" getting fooled by a MuskieTrain MX6 and the 52" falling to a Musky Magnet crank.
Congratulations!!!
Contact Jeff to book a guided trip in Madison, and maybe you can get the story of his awesome week first-hand...

| WOW...awesome work!
thanks for sharing that with us, Jeff.
Jeff quietly puts up unheralded numbers of fish (and big fish) every year, primarily fishing in and around Madison, including winning the Int'l Muskies Inc contest. he knows muskies as well as anybody out there.
take a bow, Jeff, you deserve it!
and to put those pics in perspective, Jeff is a big guy...

Incredible accomplishment! Not only is Jeff is the most knowledgeable fisherman I know but the most humble as well. His expertise on the Madison Chain is far greater then any of us on this body of water. This man is part musky! Catches fish under ALL conditions! From the opener to Nov. 30th Jeff's net is always wet! Simply the best fisherman i've ever had the pleasure to fish with. His numbers and size speak for themselves... |

Location: Yahara River Chain | Yes, I concur, Jeff is the best muskie guy I know. Congrats Jeff!! I know the last time he spoke to our club I asked him when he thought the 1st 50 would come. He says he felt that would happen a few years ago. But leave it to hm to shatter that barrier and twice!! Our Madison waters are coming of age - nice!!!

Location: The Yahara Chain | Jeff had told me of a couple of 50's that he had lost in the last couple of years. There isn't a more deserving guy out there. Many of us have scene a few 50's on the chain but the quest for the first fifty in our club just ended exactly how it should have....with the best angler getting the job done in spectacular fashion.
Jeff has won the the Muskies Inc International contest three times and catches a 100+ fish every year. The man has crazy skills, truly one of the greatest muskie anglers anywhere.
The captain of the American team in this Can Am challenge better be asking Jeff to participate.
Big congrats to Jeff.....unbelievable job!!!!
We have a young fishery here in Madison and they take some time to grow up.....nothing wrong with the genetics of these fish in our waters. |

| Finally! Way to go Buddy! Troy hit the nail on the head as did others, couldn't of happened to a nicer and more deserving guy! I have had the pleasure of fishing with Jeff twice both times he had me on fish and both times when we came in others seemed to struggle and Jeff pulled through as he always does! Hands down without question Jeff is the Man on the Mad Chain season after season. Congrats again on the slobs! Mike Leombruni |

Location: WI | Quite an accomplishemt for a guy that has put more hours on the Madison Chain fishing for muskies than any other. A humble, and deserving guy who has caught the fish he has been seeking for 25 years! Congratulations!
Let's salute the guy that deserves the credit for a hell of a week of fishing and catching a bunch of great fish.
My hat's off to you, Jeff!

There is luck involved in catching big fish, but those that do it repetitively take a large portion of the luck factor out. There aint much luck involved when Jeff does it! |

| Hey Jeff, Thanks for the phone call!!!!! WTF!
Most of what I've learned about musky fishing was taught to me while fishing in Jeff's Esox Magnum. If I didn't learn it there, I learned it at the kitchen table while watching Jeff eat amazing amounts of Lasagna!
Oh, on a side note, I saw a 50 with Jeff in Madison five or six years ago. I knew there were there, and I knew he'd get one.
Congrats buddy!

| Congratulations, Jeff! Lots of talk the last few years about 50's in the chain, nice to see it's finally become reality. I think everybody said the same thing about it which was basically "when it happens it will be Hanson that does it..."

I also heard of a 60 incher caught, but when we saw the pictures it came up a foot short.

| Jeff,
You are one of a handful of guys that makes this sport the "best in class". Your integrity and dedication to musky fishing makes you a true role model. My 12 year old son Tyler has a unique opportunity to fish with you from time to time and when we are on the "chain", he always comments where to fish because Hanson took us there. You are setting the right example for the Musky Fishermen of tomorrow (the kids), showing them that with hard work and patience, you can achieve anything. Thanks for being that role model. Stop and Enjoy this moment. Its well deserved. Personal congrats from Tyler and me.

Location: Madtown, WI | As like many others here that posted that I know...Jeff got me INTO muskie fishing many moons ago....He set the ground work and I learned a ton from him over those first few years.....MANY hours I have spend in his boat and I can honestly say folks that he has "It".....
How many guys can work 10 hour days doing construction and then put another 5 or 6 (I have seen 8-10)hours on the water...day in and day out...
Hard working fish catching SOB....
Hats off Jeff....As jeff would say in his sarcastic tone...."I'm proud of ya!"
Very cool....Congrats.

| After getting a ton of e-mails Yes both fish were caught on crankbaits.
The MX6 is made by Muskietrain Muskietrain.com or Jim from Dorn Midvale has the order forms. As does Jim from Rollie's I don't know if they have them in stock
Muskymagnet is also a Crankbait not to be confused with the Jerkbait totaly different thing They are made by Kermitt Good from Detroit all made by hand by him. I have caught 7 Muskie over 50" and 25 over 45" on his baits 1-810-706-1728
Thanks,
Jeff |

| Congratulations again to Jeff on boating 4 Madison monsters! We were all hoping for a long time that the first verfied 50 from Madison would be caught by a dedicated, well respected musky angler so there would be no questions. Jeff certainly fits that profile! Jeff is well deserving of these fish. Congrats again Jeff!
