Is there any place close to Albert Lea to chase muskies?? I'll be working up there for a couple months and wouldn't mind pulling the boat up and hitting a couple lakes sometime after work. Thanks for any point in the right direction.

I don't know of any. There are some in farbault area. Google mn dnr lake finder. You can see what counties and lakes Muskie are stocked in. I am not sure which county albert lea is in though.

Best bet is to bring an ultra light and hip boots. Lots of trout streams down that way.

Clear Lake, Iowa would be the closest to Albert Lea to the south about 38 miles. To the north, French Lake is 54 miles. Right now the public landing at French is only 8 to 10" deep and stays that shallow for more than 200 ft. It will be hard to launch a very big boat there unless we get a big rain.

There are also a couple tiger lakes within 1.5 hours drive.

to the west there LAKE X lake as well, its a stocked lake like french, I live in al and wish there was a lake- good walleye fishing though, decent cats. dont know much about the iowa lake but french is crowded, so is fox. get up early and drive to the citys/croix/sippi send me a mesg. when you get up this way and ill try to get you on some eyes, if youd like. fyi- most good spots can be fished from shore so a boat is unessesary- good luck either way
