Has anybody ever had their boat windhield rip off due to wind stress on the cover while towing long distances? I headed home from EAgle River this weekend to find that this had happened to the windshield on my Tuffy. Do you guys who tow long distances with your cover on remove your windshield to avoid this, or is it best to not traler witha cover? The cover was made specifically for the boat.[:(]

Most folks from what I have seen, take there windshield off when they cover there boat and travel. The cover tugs on the windshield under wind stress....I bet.

Matt: I have an Aurora Custom Cover for my boat which was designed to be supported by the windshield. If I trailer at high speed with the cover on and without the windshield installed it leaves too much extra material flopping around. The one time I tried it I ended up with a rip where the cover was rubbing on something I left on the floor which wouldn't have made contact if I had left the sheild on.

Is your cover extremely tight in all places when you put it on with your shield? If there are any places where the fabric is a bit loose that can causing flopping/flapping and irregular tugs on your shield.
