Karol I'm on my 3rd season with the xxx 7'9, it's a good rod. Good for everything from 9" Bobbies, 10" Suicks to 12" Bobbies, Pounder Dawg, Sledge. It also rips a mean 10" Jake or 13" Grandma. It's a heavy-action rod that's proven really versatile. It handles plugs from eight to over twelve inches well. I haven't tried walkin the dog with it but I could see it working ok too. I picked up a 12 inch Suick and this rod is also ideal for that. I used to throw big (13-20 inch) bootails with 10's and 13's with this rod too. Not ideal (real heavy tip) but it worked on six muskies with blades last season. If you like a softer tip section, you probably won't like this rod. Good luck.
