| OK. Newbie needs some help! What do you use for trolling rods/reels for big baits (Plow, Big Franky Baits, Big Deep Threats, Hookers, (6-10oz lures)) using superbraid line. Thanks for your help! Paul | |

| Get a couple of Okuma Convector CV 30D linecounters and put those on 8 1/2 foot Okuma Blue Diamond medium/heavy dipsy rods. They work great. | |

| Will the superbraid cut through the AlO2 guides? I have heard it will with big/heavy baits? | |

| What about the graphite breaking in cold, cold, weather? Paul | |

Location: Toronto, Ontario | Don't worry about superbraid made from Spectron cutting your guides, won't happen. I'd recommend the Okuma Catalina series (step up from convectors) reels and if you don't mind the spend, go with the St. Croix Premier Saltwater 8' H rod....you'll be able to tow around any bait, or your fridge... At a lower price, I'm sure that Okuma Blue Diamond is fine. A friend of mine recommends the Berkeley GlowStiks and I suspect any good fiberglass catfish rods will suffice too. | |
