Location: Montreal, Que. Canada | I tide a marabou body section apart from the blade body section. I was wondering for the blade body which I'll keep strait with shrink rap tubing with #12 blades if I should use .051 or .063 with the #7 clevises or go to #8s? I imagine I'm over complicating yet again!

Location: Pewaukee, WI | It's a personal preference really. Both will work. If you are anticipating a lot of action from Pike then you may want to go with heavier wire (,062 or ,063). I prefer .051 wire myself. It's much easier to bend back into shape if it does get bent plus I think you get a lot more vibration from the revolving blades off the thinner wire. In any case I would suggest you go with the larger (#8 size) clevis for #12 size blades or larger.  |
