Location: Maplewood, MN | In the spring time in MN, what structure, and depth do you usually have the best success in for spring? I'm talkin clear water and dark water.

| well il tell you sir, i have done much research on spring locations of muskies. They relate to open water in June a lot, so trolling can be affective. Look for weed beds and lines adjacent to the deeper lake basins. These atract 'skies in the month of june.  |

| they wont be far from their spawning areas. if you can find a good piece of stucture adjacent to a spawning area. i always find a good weed bed or a rock hump mixed w/ weed is the best in june. lakes w/ heavey recreation and lots of docks i find fish in and around docks that have deeper water. |

Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | We have a lot of success casting rock bars, mid lake humps and deep points with sprouting vegetation. if the water is near 60 degrees, the flats we work in the summer hold fish along the softer breaks and often in the opposing skinny water. |

| The open water is great at this time of year. But there is some strategy to this approach, first thing you can do is troll all over the main basin and KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR FISH FINDER! When you come across a big clump of bait fish, stop and cast the area. I like to cast shallow running crankbaits, my favorite would be the Shallow Invader. Reason being, is that the fish are so high in the water column. Pretty simple, cast were the bait fish are.
