| After switching from a full size truck to a mid size SUV this year, I noticed my hitch was about 3-4" higher than it was with my full size. I was prepared to purchase a bigger drop reciever but decided to see how it towed. I was suprised that it was almost close to level, with only a hint of an up angle. Is there any disadvantage to this, or safety issues I should be concerned with? It acually seemed to follow better at highway speeds behind my SUV. No wobble at all... | |

if the trailer is not level, all it is doing is shifting the center of gravity toward the rear of the trailer/rig. So long as the center of gravity is in front of the trailer wheels, it will probably track pretty well. Probably wouldn't hurt to find a drop that gets it level as possible, although I don't think you have much to worry about. If it is pretty close to level, I'd bet you are fine.
