Location: Kentucky | Alright guys, we should have fun with this one. LOL Theres a pelican on CaveRun lake. I seen it twice last week and then yesterday it dive bombed a bluegill about 25 yards in front of my boat. I got some pics of it. I know I'm crazy, but its a pelican. Any thoughts?

Not to sound too ignorant, but why is a pelican unusual? |

Location: Kentucky | I did mention I'm in Kentucky right? I'm pretty sure we don't have a great population of pelicans flying around. Especially when I've been in contact with the Kentucky Fish and Game dept about it and the biologist there told me that it was highly unlikely that it is a pelican.

They may be plentiful where you are, but not down here.

  | Rare, perhaps. But then again, you sometimes hear about a Moose that wondered way south or a Bobcat being somewhere that you'd never expect.

  | I fish lake Peppin on the Mississippi river quite frequently in june. This is Pool 4 near Waubesha, MN. We have Pelicans up there all the time. And not just one or two but flocks of like 35. |

Location: Morehead KY | I got your back bro, I watched it at clay lick for over an hour friday. I was blown away how efficient that guy was. Every time he hit the water he was choking down a shad. Looked like he was making a pretty good livin on the ole cave. |

Location: Kentucky | Sweet! So, that makes two other people that have seen him. LOL It has been a cool conversation topic anyway. I heard back from Ky fish and Game today. They verified it as a brown pelican and there writing an article about it in Ky Afield, using my pics. Pretty cool.
Now, back 2 the Musky!!!

Location: Kentucky | Brown pelicans are a rare site anywhere in KY while white pelicans number by the hundreds in the western portion of the state. Very cool find!!! |
