| I just arrived home after spending a couple hours at the residence of one of the legends of our sport. Dick Moore has forgotten more about muskies than most of us will ever know and it was truly inspiring chatting with Dick for a couple hours. I've been buying stuff from Dick for years , but never made it to baitmakers "mecca". Stories of Bob Ellis, Gil Hamm among others, made for a memorable afternoon . The main reason for going over to Dick's house was to pick up materials to make some baits for Operation Muskie, couretsy of Justin Gaudry and Mylies Place on LOTW.
As I started adding up the bill, Dick stopped me and said he was donating all the materials(a lot!) for me to put the 'tails together for the Operation. I was floored. A huge THANK YOU to Dick and Carol Moore as well as Justin Gaudry from Mylies Place who set the whole deal in motion. Truly a highlight of my muskie "career" and I never even made a cast. Steve

Location: Richland Center, WI. | Three or four years ago my sons and I took a drive up to Rollie and Helens to "check it out." We stopped unannounced at Dick Moore's house. Dick and his wife gave the boys and I a tour of the basement, showed us the machines they use to tie up jigs and bucktails and Dick told some stories of the "old days". What a great trip that was! Bought some stuff to make some lures and got a deal on the stuff as the lure making was a father and son project. Dick was working out in the yard that day and took time out of his day to visit with us.
Thanks again Dick!

Location: Lake of the Woods, Morson, Ontario | WOW! I didn't realize Dick was so famous. I certainly knew that he is one of the best multi-species fisherman I have ever seen around these parts. He's always willing to talk fishing and helped out many of our guests over the years by marking maps for everything from walleyes to crappies and everything in between.
Dick has been a good friend to me personally, as well as the resort. Moore Lures should always be the basement bait makers first call for tackle components. It's great to see him get to enjoy the lake so much in his semi-retirement.
I wonder how many people he has helped catch a muskie over the years by marking maps, just talking fishing, selling lures or components to someone to make baits. Too many to count I'm sure.
Thanks for everything, Dick! |

Location: NE Ohio | I'm just getting into lure making and a month ago I called Moore's.... The phone rang & rang and I almost hung up.
Then a older sounding man answered and was very kind in apologizing in taking so long...
he said he would send a catalog right out. It's cool to hear good stuff about people I'll be buying from! |
