I'm the maker of the Livid Fish. I appreciate the interest in the lure. A lot of people have been comparing our bait to a Lazy Ike or Flat Fish, and I can't deny it, there are similarities. However, with the Livid Fish, you have a 9" lure with a great deal of meat on its bones. The Livid Fish also allows you to go a bit deeper than you could with the aforementioned lures. We fished it on a straight retrieve in 10-15" for the longest time, but as soon a we started getting in the shallows and pounding through weeds as a jerk bait we picked up more fish.

Yeah I have been fishing with it for a couple of years. The thing I like is its easy to throw and super easy to reel back. It dosen't have the big plastic lip on it making it hard to reel back like all other crank baits yet I think its got the best action out of everything I have thrown. I love that tail wip that it seems to have it just looks sweet.

As you mentioned Mota, the Livid Fish is definitely a unique, new style musky bait. (As mentioned above there's similar baits out there, but none of this size) I like fishing the bait by giving it hard jerks and letting it float back up to the surface and also just cranking it in slowly in shallow/thick weeds. It rides right over the weeds perfectly with that unique swimming style. I really think this could be a great trolling bait for those who can troll legally. I'm planning on using it a good amount this summer while row-trolling...probably have to add a little bit of weight to get it down initially, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I saw that the video for their topwater is up and running now http://www.youtube.com/user/nazercl and just sent him an email telling him that I need one. Looks like a sweet, variable speed topwater. I should be able to get some video of it within the next week or two of using it on the water and possibly a musky hitting it.

Just wanted to chime in and definitely let people know that the Livid Fish is a quality bait and is worth your money getting one and your time throwing it.

How did you come up with the idea for "the Tin head" and what makes it different from other baits of that style besides being made of plastic? Not like I need another
topwater but......

Hey David...thanks for the interest in the lure.

I guess first off I should say that the Tin Head is a wood bait. Naze Baits is exclusively a wood bait company. We learned how to musky fish on wood baits and so I guess they'll always have a place in our tackle boxes.

As for the Tin Head's design, I guess we were after simplicity. I LOVE the Mouldy Hawg Wobbler--threw it all the time. I love it's size, the wake it creates, etc., etc. BUT you can't fish it fast! I also love the Jitterbug style presentation--but there's just no size to the lure. This--to me--is the best of both worlds. It's nine inches, disruptive, and one of the easiest lures I've ever fished with. This is one of those baits that would be great to throw on as a "throw back bait"--fish it deadly slow after a follow. Nights when the water is calm, it looks great in the water--great gurggling sound. We've even trolled the Tin Head at 3.5 miles an hour!! Cast this thing through some modest rice or saw grass patches--you can't catch a weed if you tried. The positive features of the bait are endless. I guess the difference with this bait is really simplicity. Three hooks, a hunk of wood and a a metal bib--not much can tangle, no hassling with adjusting, not a lot of weeds and it's a pretty sharp looking bait.

We're working on inventory right now. We're trying to get the word out early about it. Check out www.bigwoodmuskylures.com in late June, early July for Tin Heads you can purchase. Kyle at Big Woods Musky Lures is great guy, who has great prices. He also carries our flagship lure the Livid Fish.

Thanks again David,

Corey

Corey,
When I wrote "of that style" I was thinking of the Hoosier Jittershad and HR's Speed waker?

Well, without fishing with either, I'm reluctant to compare. I can really only speak for our lure. The Tin Head's price is competetive. The 9 inch model should retail for around $22.00.

The Tin Head looks very similar to the Hoosier Jittershad. I love the Hoosier, so this should be a great bait too. I've used the Hoosier for the last two or three year and love the action.
