Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Welcome back to all of you in Southern Wisconsin to actually muskie FISHING, versus just muskie TALKING, PLANNING and DREAMING. Soon Northern Wisconsin will be open, followed by Minnesota, Canada and the full range of the muskie! Meaning that it's time to start posting pics of your sucesses and why not have a shot at winning some stuff while you're at it! Okuma Fishing will again be sponsoring a monthly photo contest which is eligible to all registered MuskieFIRST members. So make sure you're capturing your
Make sure to check out not only the rules below, but Okuma Fishing, supporter of so many MuskieFIRST events at http://www.okumafishing.com
Pretty basic rules: A new thread will be started at the beginning of every month, and will be active for between one week and 15 days. Contestants will enter a picture of a fish caught recently by posting to the Okuma Fishing Monthly Photo Contest thread. At the end of that week myself, Mark Rogers of Okuma (California_Muskie screen name) and Mike Winther (lambeau) will judge the pictures. Judging will be based on photo quality and presentation versus being judged soley on fish size. Pictures should be related to muskie fishing, but do not necessarily need to include an actual fish. Enter as many times as you want, but you can only enter each picture one time.
***SPECIAL CONTINGENCY RULE: The BEST picture submitted per month where either a person in the picture is wearing or displaying the Okuma logo or brand, or where any Okuma product is CLEARLY VISIBLE will ALSO be the winner of a special contingency prize. What that prize is going to be.....stay tuned!
Please make sure to check out the new Red Isis reel, the EvX line of rods and my personal favorite, the Induron reels. Thanks again to Okuma Fishing for their continued support of MuskieFIRST and our users!

Location: SE Wisconsin | Notice the Okuma rod? That was her Christmas present - she asked for it.
This is Christie, my wife, with her first legal while casting. It was a chilly day with the wind out of the NW and drury overcast skies. Despite some light sprinkles, she stuck it out and ended up with this treat before having to take off for work. That puts her 2 for 2 in total muskies in the boat per trip this season and I'm one hell of a proud husband!!
PS: These photo's have way higher resolution, I just can't get them sized right without distroying them. I'll have my wife fix it when she gets home.

Location: SE Wisconsin | Pre-fishing for the Pewaukee WMT event brought me many window shopping opportunities. I was fortunate enough to have James return the favor of a shot I had taken of him earlier that evening as he worked a deep follower. I like these shots. . . You can really re-live the moment.
Some write 8's in the water, I draw circles.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Well, I WAS Mukie fishing, but this Pike decided to show up. And lucky me, I'm wearing an Okuma shirt! The fish is covering up the big words on the front, but you can see the bear on my collar!
**EDIT: You can also see an IDX 400 w/ power handle in the background!

Location: Minn. | First Muskie of the year! Fishing with a Beetlespin for bluegills. I caught an eight inch bluegill
and was just lifting it out of the water, when this fat 391/2 inch Tiger leaped out of the water with my Bluegill. It continued to run about 50 ft of line of my spinning reel and made another leap. It looked just like a small Tarpon, so I bowed to it.LOL Two more leaps and a lot of nice runs and Darrell slid the Beckman under it. I'm glad he hadn't taken it out. We weighed it in the net and it read 19lbs after the tare weight. Catching it on a ultralite and four pound test line is a whole new ballgame, What a rush. It was so cool to see it grab the Bluegill and go airborn in one swift motion. Only had a cellphone along for a photo. Thanks
