Location: Glenmoore PA | Im just wondering what everybody's longest no fish streak has been? I think i have been out now about 6 or 7 times in a row dating back to last year with nothing to show for it. I will be nice to break the slump! |

| I had a year, (2005 I think) where I went something like 15 days on the water without a fish in the boat, and better than half of those were days where we didn't even see a fish. It's funny now, looking back on it. It sure as heck wasn't funny back then! |

Location: Madison WI | Last year I caught a fish on June 16th and the next fish I caught was on August 4th, I had been fishing almost everyday between those 2 dates, boy was it frustrating, but then August got hot and it was soon forgotten. |

| Mine was 11 months, of fishing time, a year and 1/2 in the calendar year. It was when I first started musky fishing. I saw a ton of fish, and had my fair share of chances but I couldn't make all the stars align. I actually think that has made me a better fisherman though. I learned the hard way to pay attention to the little details, and appreciate catching fish when I am out, no matter what size they are. Last year my average was 3 hours of fishing for every fish. Only wish they came on a timely manner like that!

| 6 years. That was my first time musky fishing, but I broke the streak last year. I am fully surprised that I didn't give up after 3 years.

| my longest streak is my current streak, 21 months, after my first muskie! Very frustrating and confusing. Just when you think you might be beginning to figure things out... Strike 3! It has been very tough, but still trying to push on and stay enthused. |

Location: Northern Wisconsin | ive been fishing alot on some lightly populated rivers and ponds here in illinois all spring with nothing at all not even a follow haha. probably around 70 (60 from shore, 10 from boat) hours all together this spring with nothing. mostly fishing fox river and a trip to fox chain in march and twin lakes. |

| I think it's more of a reality check than anything. There are people out there who catch a lot of fish because of where they are fishing and because they have things pretty well dialed in on that body of water.
There are a lot more people out there fishing low density fisheries, where the few fish that are there don't get all that big. Many of those same people are expecting to catch a lot more and a lot bigger fish than can reasonably be expected to happen where they are fishing. |

Thats exactly what kept me going to is the follows and just the passion for the sport. I think thats the key to musky fishing is passion. If you dont have the passion for these fish your going to get to frusterated and want to give up. just knowing that sooner or later your going to hook up with a fish and get em in the net is worth all the time put in to this amazing sport. | It definitely depends on where you fish! Looking over the last 100 days on the water on LOTW - I average a fish in the net every 6 hrs........the last 100 days in Iowa its every 15 hrs - with several 40 - 60 hr streaks with nothing to show... then you have a three fish day and you decide not to sell all your SHTUFF!!!  |

Location: New Hope MN | ya know, i don't mind the skunked days if its a nice summer day. Where i get annoyed is the 4 weekends of 40 degrees, high winds, rain and snow with not a freakin fish!
I didn't catch a fish from mid Sept through mid Nov. I tried a new lake last fall and it just killed me. |

| I went an entire season plus one week of the next in 2006-2007. Probably fished a total of 25 days, but really had no idea what I was doing and messed up on a couple hooked fish. Learned a lot of lessons the hard way that year but am now reaping the rewards. There is a bit of a learning curve for most people, don't feel bad about not catching a fish for a year or three. Get out with people you know are catching fish and see what they are doing different. Take a guide out. Read some musky fishing books. Lots of ways to shorten the learning curve.
Caught a 51 last June on a Wednesday night, Thursday-Sunday I landed one 20" fish out of the next 10 that hit. I was ticked off, but at least I caught the 51"! |

| I caught my last fish of the year (my PB) in the boat on 10-28-2007. Boated my next fish on 10-27-2008. Which, includes no less than 20 outings, including a three-day stint fishing Webster and the Barbee Chain in mid-May that year, numerous outings on Shawano, a couple days "up north," a handful of days on some smallish lakes around here, and 5-7 days on the Green Bay system. |

| I don't get out nearly as much as most on this site, so I'll give an estimate in hours. Longest is probably close to 30-35 hours worth of fishing. I'll typically get out for 4-5 hours at a time, so roughly 7 trips to the lake. |

Location: WI | In Sept 2007 I caught my PB. I fished for a month after that then called it quits. I didn't catch another ski until the fourth of July last summer. I had to repay my dues a little.
Starting out was tough. I had a weeklong vacation where I didn't catch one. Had one on at the end of the week and lost it...I think I threw the rod down after that. Now that I'm older I realise it's all just part of the game and don't get mad like that anymore. |

| hmmm...bought my first musky rod when I was 12, caught my first musky when I was 20...yep thats 8 years, got you all beat. Moral of the story, I suck at muskie fishing, but walleyes fear me. |
