| I still use a couple Pete maina rods and reels! One is at least 10 yrs old and another is close to that! I would recommend both the rod and reel to anyone! They have been 100% reliable and 100% beat on for alot of years. I like them much better than my Shimano rod! Just my 2 cents!

Location: Indiana | I love the mania two-piece 8 1/2 footers. For a two piece, it's the best rod out there for the money...and it stows away easily which might be good if you're using it as a spare. |

| I have not used a Compre, but have had a Mania combo since 02 (first musky setup). It doesn't get much use from me now a days, but it is almost always being used when I head out with my brother who doesn't have a musky rod. I have nothing bad at all to say about this rod. Also, if anything does ever happen to the Mania, Bass Pro's policy on replacing faulty/broken gear that has their name on it is very good. I guess it depends on how close you live to a BPS, but that definitely beats sending a rod or reel back the the manufacturer should something happen to it. |

I have two Compres and love them both. I can't speak for the Maina product but the Compre is a great value for the money. |

Location: lake x...where the hell is it? | compres also have a "over the counter warrenty" so if it breaks or something goes wrong with it you can just take it back to where you got it and get a new one. |

Location: Oswego, IL | Yeah, both have same warantee. But I was looking the Compre has IM8 Vs. IM6 blank for Mania. Dont know how much that will make, but in dollar wise, I would rather have 8bucks than 6! lol |
