A woman who lives on Claussen Lane reported Tuesday evening that her ex-husband, 51-year-old Dennis Mahana of the same address, had fallen off his fishing boat and into the water.

Valparaiso firefighters responded and got Mahana to the shore. Porter County police said he was pulled to land even though he was uncooperative. Police said he was intoxicated, but wasn't arrested on a charge of drunken driving because his boat had no motor, and the pond he fell into was private property.

Mahana was taken to Porter Memorial Hospital and released Wednesday.

Catch And Released![]

Sounds as though she had the boat as part of the settlement...he had a few + started thinking how he got hoo-dood by the court system...the more he drinks/thinks about his loss of wife/property the angrier he becomes...finally he can take it no more...takes off in the boat +realizing what he has done, decides to find permanent residence on the pond bottom, not realizing he floats....she screwed up by not stuffing his pockets w/ rolls of quarters...now he survives to do it all over again....[::)]

You just might be right there, Sponge:
But then again - he could have just been celebrating his release from the bonds of matrimony; celebrated just a tad too much and the rest is now history...and posted on the message board for all the world to see. Remember when life was simpler and all we really had to worry about was adhering to mom's advice to "be sure to wear clean underwear" as we might be involved in an accident?!...[:blackeye:]
Now we have to worry about mom's advice, keep our blood/alcohol level within legal limits...AND...use an alias!...[:knockout:]
