Location: Kentucky | Whats going on guys. I got these last year but haven't had a chance to try them yet. I'm in need of some money so they have to go.
These are from Black Bart Lures. Made for high speed saltwater trolling. Marlin, tuna, wahoo, etc. These things are made with the Musky overkill attitude bigtime! Two 10/0 single hooks with thru-wire cable crimped directly to the flourocarbon leader.(talk about weedless,no snap) Of which they both come with 10 feet of flo leader, either 450lb or 500lb test floro, can't remember the exact test but its one of them. The cabo prowler was the one that I was mainly interested in. When you troll it, the lure has holes in the head of it and they make it go crazy behind the boat. It is made to dive down, sideways, and sometimes breaks the surface of the water.. Put a piece of lead on it and wow! LOL These things can take some high speeds to 10-15mph.
Just sad I didn't get a chance to use them. The Musky around here have not seen anything like this. Tell me what you all think. I"m going to put them on ebay, shortly.
If nothing else its interesting to see how they did the leader and thru cable.

Location: Kentucky | You know, speaking of that. A guy could take the squid head and skirt off and put some massive #15 blades on this bad boy and would have one heck of a spinner with 10feet of floro. Nice! I like it!

Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | After years of fishing on the ocean, I thought offshore trolling lures would be a great secret musky bait. I used them one season quite a bit. The most difficult part of it was keeping them running how they should. It took 9+ MPH to get them to run decent, 11+ to get them to run ideal. No muskies, but one pike did manage to wrap it's mouth around one Black Bart medium @ 12mph. I have used the squids and jelly-hoos in a daisy chain without much success. One really needs to play with weights more with those rigs. plus, they may make a great teaser leader in front of a crank or Blade bait The best offshore trolling bait for musky apps IMO would probably be a soft headed hooker for the weight aspect. The chugger head and lighter weight would keep it at a proper depth better than most of the Bart lures.
Never tried to put blades on them though... That got my wheels turning. |

Location: Kentucky | My wheels are always turning when it comes to these stupid fish. LOL Wonder how big the holes are in those snap on clevis'? Snap a couple on the flo leader and but some blades on there. I got a buddy that use's a little downrigger for striper. Wonder if that would help these stay down at lower speeds? Guess you could just put a ball weight on where you tie to the mainline.
Maybe I will win the lottery tomorrow and not have to put them on ebay. LOL
