| Has anyone tried both the wooden and plastic versions of the 8" Slammer Crankbait/Twichbait? I was looking at a plastic one but wanted to know how it stacked up to a wooden one. Comments about action would be most appreciated, but wear would be an area I'd be interested in hearing about also, Thanks. |

| they run straighter out of the box. they will also last for ever since they are plastic. very well made baits and really nice paint and clear coats. |

Location: SE, WI. | I guess you should contact slammer bait co. and get the info directly from the makers mouth.
IMO the plastic is a definite improvement. No expanding or contracting of the wood where the clear coat would chip and crack. I guess he was trying to accomplish a little bit more hang time, so bait does not rise as Quickly.

Location: Ames, Iowa | Great twitch baits- have better action than Cranes imo- my biggest fish came on an 8 inch Slammer trolled in October. I have the wooden lures and they will lose some of their their clearcoat between the sun and the water. I've found the best prices at Sportsman's Warehouse. |
