| I've been looking around at rod holders, wanting to pick some up to mount on the rails on the front of our fish and ski. I see the Scotty's have an adapter to use as a rail system. Just curious if any of you guys have used these, and what your opinion is. |

Location: WI | I use them, but not with the rail mount. I would buy Down Easters instead. I plan to replace mine eventually. Too big and bulky and the plastic will break if you bump them on a dock. |

Location: Indiana | I've used them for a couple of years, I don't troll alot but when I do they have worked fine. I've snagged up on huge weed beds, and timber and never had any problems. Never had a problem with them tearing up the handles either. |

Location: Lebanon,Mo | I had them on my Lund, put Down Easters on my G3 and went back to the Scotty's.There easier to use,and I have flush mounts so nothing is in the way during casting.Never had a problem with them, and they dont rattle when the motor is at idle. |

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | Mine work fine. Have six railmounted bases and just clip on the holders for trolling time. |

| Folbe's!!! Had Scotty's before and once you use the quick release of the
Folbe's, you'll never go back.

| I run 4 of the Scottys on the rails of my boat and like them a lot. THey are not as strong as the down easter which I also have a pair of on my boat specificlly for running "down rods". You can not position the Scottys for the down rod position and the only holder I have found that you can is the Down Easters. One thing I do when trolling is to lighten my drags some, IMHO there is no reason to have the drags locked down for trolling. If you lock the drags down you might have problems with the strength of the Scottys if you are running short lines, if you loosen the drag some you will not have any issues. |
