I was pre fishing a good muskie spot tonight for a guide job tommrow on Tonka when something came up and ate my topperstoper. It felt like a muskie but flopped around on the surface kinda funny. When I got the thing up to the boat where I could see it I just about messed my pants. There arn't allot of huge bass where I come from and this one is big. I don't have a scale (I'm a muskie and pike fisherman by training) but it's 22in long and I would guess 6 pounds. Seeing as it's the biggest I've caught in as long as I can remember and I don't have one yet, I'm putting her on the wall!

This is not the first bass I've caught on topperstopers. Any one else have this kind of good fortune?

When I get the pics developed I'll put one up.

Brian

By Gumby that seems to be ALL I catch here! Since we have way more of the other fish instead of musky, this happens alot. I have caught humongo large+ small mouths + rockfish on musky topwaters. In fact, I have a black Hawg Wobbler that they can't stay off of + more than a few peeps here have tried to purchase this bait. Perhaps some day I'll even hang the rare ski on a topper![:sun:]

I have caught large mouth bass, but I get more smallies than their cousins. In fact this year I have about 20 bass, all caught on muskie gear. The biggest so far is a 19"er that I thought was a muskie, about ripped the pole out of my hand!A few years ago a friend got a 20"er on a 8" HR.It still amazes me as to why these fish hit large lures but I am more than happy to catch them.Good Luck to all,Paul

While fishing Cave Run in the fall i was casting a eight inch Bill Norman crankbait on a weed edge and woosh i reeled in two largmouth at the same time. Both of them weighed about 4 pounds each. It is funny that they hit at the same time and on the same lure. I guess they were hungry.
