Does anyone on here have any experience using the 300 series Curado from Shimano. I saw where it has a greater line capacity, over 15 lbs of drag, and a larger gearbox designed for the bigger fish. I love my Curados for smallmouth bass fishing. I was just wondering about them for musky. Thanks!

i've got 4 of them now, and have used them over the past 2 seasons for everything i throw except the real big bucktails. they're quick, easy to handle, cast very well, and they're also quite durable - they're the first reel i've not been able to break.
it says "Shimano" on the side of the reel, which is usually a good sign that if you pick one up, you'll be happy you did.

Lambeau hit it on the head, I got two 300's and I really like them, they really are great reels.

Does their anti reverse performance good? I picked one up was unsure what to use for. Buckytails or jerkbait or both

You could use them for both bucktails and jerkbaits, I also love the reel. My only suggestion for it would be to not have a disengaging levelwind.

I have the DSV and ran it last season for cowgirls, and a few glide baits. I love mine, but will be trying out a Toro this season for DBL 10's. The Curado won't be far away just in case though.

I'm using DSV's, I was talking to one of the guys (can't remember his name) from Rollie & Helen's at the Chicago show and he told me that the only difference between the DSV (grey) and the E series (green) is the paint he said that the updates & changes were done to the smaller reels.

CURADO 300D vs CURADO 300E Shimano added one bearing at the base of the drive shaft, new Titanium line guide insert and changed the pinion support bearing to a S-ARB bearing, and now they are GREEN. U can up grade your 300D by replacing the BTN 3697 LINE GUIDE with BNT 3992 Titanium line guide from 300E, and replace BTN 3521 BUSHING with BNT 0031 bearing from the 300E.

If you take your reel apart to oil and grease your reel yourself you should be able to do it. PM me if you have any more ???? Make sure you have a copy of the SCHEMATICS in front of you when you start.

Thank's Richard, I'll be doing the updates to mine as well. I should have asked you first. Dave
