Take-off was great this morning, over 160 guys from 11 different states hit the water hoping to boat some muskies. Pre-fishing was tough, but someone did land a heavy 50 incher. We'll list Day 1 results later this evening. Below are some photos from take-off and the 50 incher caught during pre-fish.

Good luck to all down there,It looks a bit chilly there. Maybe I feel just a little bit better not being there now. Jim is it right only 50 teams? That number was mentioned on another post.

Why aren’t we out there fishing today? I am sure by this time tomorrow we will be thinking that we would could have been fishing that spot or that lure had we been there.
This websight is associated with a new acronym these days.

OutdoorsFIRST is 'mother ship' for all web coverage of Competitive Angling events. This year we'll be covering the FLW Walleye Tour, the FLW Walleye League, the Anglers Insight Marketing Walleye Tour, The Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament, and the 4 MAC events and 3 Hartman Series MAC events, and the Kevin Worrall Memorial. That's 31 events we will be covering, plus the Outings at Spring Bay and Presque Isle and the winter shows like this one (Minnesota Muskie Expo) and conferences. We'll also be at ICAST, bringing you live webcasts from the show about new products of interest.
The PMTT's Jim Stella will be posting reports and press releases, so expect that daily from all their events

50 teams only? That is a huge drop in that number from other years. I hope next year I'll be able to get back onto the trail and fish them all. Have to see where there are,how the economy is doing and that my new business is off and running well and can find someone to work when I'm gone fishing. Good luck to all the teams.

Day 1 results have been posted to the PMTT website. The day started out cold and misty, but the sun came out and warmed things. The Muskies were biting pretty much through out the day, with 16 fish being caught on day 1, with a triple in first and a fat 48.5 incher in second. Click on the link to see all the results and photos.

Kevin is one of the best I've met. He's fun to fish with, too.

it's nice to see a decent sized field, too. there was lots of concern about the economy meaning the fields would be way down, but it looks like a good showing. thanks for the clarification on that, Mr. Stella.

every time the PMTT has a tourney it makes me appreciate how dang hard these fish are to catch , and actually land. 80 boats 160 anglers on a great lake with lots of fish. 14 fish caught. If you ever want a challenge if life , become a musky fisherman. Huge shout out to the team that boated 3. Seems like I see that Nash name on the leaderboard alot. MD

someone aksed about the hodag...I don't think M1st will be covering it. the MAC scheduled one of their events the same weekend as the hodag. it was nice having M1st at the hodag last year. Too bad they won't be there this year.

High water will have the shallow bite rockin. I love that lake in Spring. So much structure to fish. Good to see 80 teams get on the water and compete in the PMTT.
My Stimulus package was to fish the PMTT but issues came up to end that plan. I am so jealous of those people fishing. What a rush it is to fish at that level.
Anyone thinking about doing competitive fishing should. Anyone can win. It's just fishing.

this one is for Bruce and Justin. I got another one on Friday and got out of there. 31 incher on a trap. Lost two others and see several more. Looks like the sun made them eat. I also shredded my shoulder while trying to miss a tree going 40 mph. I didnt see it until the last minute and I jerked the steering wheel really hard and my shoulder popped out of socket. Ouch! LOL Jerry thought it was funny! Not!! LOL It has popped out another 4 times since then. Looks like its trollin 4 me. LOL
Way to go Pmtt guys!
