Location: New Albany, Ind. | What started out as a tough time ended up with some results. Me and my wife teresa fished the Trinity Trail last Saturday. We started to do some pre fishing on Friday when i realized the lower unit wasnt engaging, durn. Loaded the boat took it to couple shops with no luck, almost just went home . After talking with Gene Smith, decided to stay and just fish with trolling motor only.
Friday night meeting we drew fourth place to start out of 26 teams, so i told everybody we would go last, so we wouldnt be in everybodys way. Saturday morning before starting wayne from west virginia starting battery was down so give him ours and we took his.
At 930 100 yards from where all the teams took me and my wife was able to net this 38". It was her first tourny. And to think we almost quit and went home. We got 2nd place and the big fish. Congrats to 1st place and 3rd. enjoy ron

| Congrats!!! My buddy Grant and I had some bad luck during the Mille Lacs tourney last season and fished the 2nd day in a borrowed boat(Thanks Scott!). The muskie Gods smiled and we took 2nd. NEVER give up and ALWAYS keep the faith. Steve |

Location: Cincinnati | We hit a rock on the Turtle-Flambeau, prefishing for the Gil Hamm. One look at the prop and skeg, we knew the lower unit needed more than just a prayer. We limped back to our cottage almost 3 hours after dark. Tournament started the next day and our only choice was to borrow a 6hp kicker from a friend. We clamped 'er on, and headed out. I don't care to troll, so our range was rather limited. Long story short, I landed a 45"er (largest of the tournament) and my partner a 42" on the first day. With a team of four, fishing against six member teams, we came within one 30"er of winning the whole thing. |
