I picked up a llungen squirko this winter and I gave it a try a few weeks ago. I was a little disappointed with its action. I was trying to fish it like a manta or a hell hound but there wasn't a lot of action out of the lure. How do you guys work a squirko, do you like it? Have you had any success with it? Thanks.

you have to work it with SLACK line, and last 6 inches of the snap are most important. Much like a Weagle underwater.
The Squirko's are one of the best jerkbaits out there. Learn to use them correctly and you'll love them! Short quick SNAPS of your rod tip with slack line.

What Hulbert said. Take the time to get familiar with that bait and you'll love it. The Squirko has produced for me on days when nothing else even got a sniff.

Pete,
Why aren't they on the Musky armor site?

I talked with keith about them a couple times, they are awesome baits, when nothing else is working they work. if the tail is stiff it may act like a rutter and keep the bait from kicking off to the side. some times you need to add a weight in front of the tail to get the back down, this will cause it to swing out.

Good Luck

David, I'm not sure. Guess you'd have to ask them. We just got in a new shipment at R&H including some new colors. They are very cool.

How would you add weight to the front of the tail?

Maybe slip a nail in there, then seal it with glue or something?

What you do is slowly remove the tail without ripping it. it can be reused.
next drill a hole in the plastic with a large drill bit, if it doesn't have a weight in it, it is a older version. the new ones have weights in them that make them run better. insert a small egg sinker into the hole and epoxy over it, clean off or scrap around the area, I did this to all my old ones or turned jerko's into squirko's and they really check the mirrors if you know what I mean. re super glue the tail back on. You could also pour lead into the hole, if it's to much drill some of it out.

Don't forget to work it just like Mike Hulbert said.
