Hey everyone thought I'd drop an introduction. I'm a 34 year old fishing junkie from the bluegrass state of Kentucky. I've been fishing my entire life and just recently decided to start chasing musky. When not fishing in the fall and winter I'm an avid waterfowl and big game hunter. Fortunately for me I have two lakes within a few hours of me that are regularly stocked by the KY Fish & Wildlife department with musky. While reproduction success seems to be minimal the stocking efforts evidently keep the lakes full of good fish.
With all of that said I'm definitely a musky rookie, but hope to change that over the next year or two. I'll keep lurking in the shadows soaking up the good info that abounds here.
If there are any area musky chasers around that would like to team up sometime let me know. I'm lucky enough to have some weekdays off from work which usually means a lot less lake pressure. I have a 17' boat and will travel.
Last but not least can anyone recommend some good DVDs that offer a lot of basic tips and techniques?

I just got the DVD that Steve Heiting made. Muskies Go With the Flow. It has a ton of info and a ton of figure 8 strikes. It mostly talks about wind direction but it also talks about the basic muskie fishing fundamentals. It is definetly one of the best DVD that I watched yet.

Since you're in Kentucky, be sure to pick up Gregg Thomas's 2 dvd's. I thought the second one was better, but both will have a lot of helpful info for you.
