I'm looking for a smaller glider. I have a couple of hellhounds and I love the action but I'm want something smaller to toss. I was looking at Smuttly Dogs. Whats your opinions?
Thanks

My small Nitros would fit also. The small Phantoms and Smuttlys are good, I have never tried the Cobbs.

Slammer drop belly, the new plastic body ones have been weighted well. Good hangtime and nice belly roll, Mr.Schwartz did well with the re-design on them.

I picked up one of Shane West's gliders over the winter and I cant wait to get it in the water. Check out these and the rest of the baits in the Basement Baits section. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=24...

I really like the Nitro's from H2O...three different models to choose from...floating, standard and "psycho". Very high quality baits that are worth taking a look at.
Good luck,

Musky Magic Tackles Slidin` Shads, hands down! I exploit Doug's lures because their as good as I say, nothing more. Doug did a batch of custom Slidin` Shads with all of my groomsmen's names and my wedding date hand painted on the belly for my wedding party gift. . . That's how cool these things are. They have a slow sink rate so after the twitch, give them some hang time. They also sink horizontally, rather than nose down and have a belly role unmatched by any other glide bait IMO.

He's got them in a variety of house colors on his website, but every season he creates a handful of customs. This year he had a large batch of a custom color I created for him called the "Tannic Walleye" pictured below (center). Great all season bait!

BEN-E-BAIT, though they are tough to find. They are small with an internal rattle, beautiful paint job, just a sweet running bait.

The best small glider, imho, must be Stalker. It is the most vesatile glider I´ve ever worked. It allow you to do allmost anything you want, side-to-side, up-and-down, irregular. Totaly brutal! In Sweden we allso gor the Buster jerk, but to be honest, it is nothing compared to Stalker.

Another great little glider is the smuttley pup. They come in 4"or 5" models and are made of cedar and sink very slowly. You can work them fast or slow. Contact Mr Mark Smith. They are a fine W VA lure. Go Eers!!

Seeing the pix of the Muskie Magic Slidin Shads reminds me of a small jerkbait that was donated to a benefit auction my muskie inc chapter held a few years ago. It was donated by a nice man from Europe. I dont remember for sure but I think the country was the Netherlands. Anyhow he was a regular poster at the time and saw the posts about the benefit and generously sent some lures to be auctioned off. I wish I could remember his name. (If he still posts on this board I'd love to hear from him.)

Anyhow, he sent the baits and they were auctioned off. One of the bidders happened to be a friend and I was lucky enough to be allowed to throw it off the dock just to see it's action. Well, first cast off the dock I caught a mid 30 inch muskie.

Based on the photo above the European lure and this Muskie Magic Shad are identical or very close to it. i'm just amazed at the similarity.

The new Woodrow is made by the guy that made the old wooden Magic Maker!! After Driffter went plastic I started buying the bodys from Chae and Mr. Mark Smith from Smuttly Dog paints them for me!
Hope this helps,

Ben-E-Bait . . . if you can get your hands on these rare little beauties! Super easy to run, awesome paint jobs, internal rattle, drives the big girls nuts! Nailed a pig the very first time I threw one of these -- very first cast -- and ended getting a bunch. No longer made though, so tough bait to find.
