| I've been considering booking a guide for one day on Millacs which I love to fish. I'm still a little green with varied musky presentations (4 yrs) and am looking for someone who is not only fun to fish with but is a great teacher. My main question is it worth the investment and who would you recommend from past experience?
Thanks! |

| I have fished with Luke Ronnestrand each of the past two seasons and would be doing it again this summer if my wife wasnt pregnant. He is fun to fish with, a good teacher and basicly let us fish as long as we wanted.

| Tim Anderson. Tim is "all of the above". You'll learn a ton and have a great time too. Class act all the way.He stuck some monsters last year when most high tailed it to" greener pastures". I know another guy, but he no longer guides there. LOL.
Check out Tim's website at http://www.BigFishHunt.com. Steve

| I fished with Paul Schlagel and would recommend him. We were out last September with Paul after most of the other guides had left and we saw a ton of muskies had three hits and boated one. He is really personable and easy to get along with. He was helpful and answered about a hundred of my questions and marked up my map for me at the landing at the end of the night and all the spots we fished got marked and also lots and losts of other spots too. He is Enduro Guide Service. |

| Thanks for all of your feedback. It sounds like there are a few good options out there. I'll get a day booked with one of these guys in August and hopefully gain some knowledge. |

| I would also recommend Paul Schlagel, after everyone left the pond he continued to stay on fish and pop some real monsters last year. The other great thing about Paul is that if you ever decide to come back to Mille Lacs, just give him a call, if he has guided you, he'll be more than happy to provide you with the current bite and what is working. |

Location: Ohio | I second Gregg Thomas. I have fished with him a few times at Cave Run. Everytime you go out you learn a lot, and have a absolute blast doing it.
He will find the fish! I.E. PMTT last year. |

Location: Downers Grove, IL | Luke Ronnestrand - as good as they get out there! He quietly goes about catching some of the biggest fish out there. |

| Greg Thomas is a great guide, my friends first fifty and my first witness of a fifty being boated was with Greg. |

| Another guy to consider out there is Lee Tauchen. He is a great teacher and will help you shorten your learning curve on an intimidating body of water. |

| Luke is a great guy, had the chance to fish with him last year...we had originally said Mille Lacs but he called and told us the fishing was terrible, he hadn't seen a fish in 3 days and had been getting some good reports on Minnetonka. So as much as I wanted to fish Mille Lacs we decided to listen to the guide. In 6 hours of fishing we boated two fish over 50 and had another one on that would have been close. I'll be fishing with Luke again this year for sure. |
