I see the Platinum chip has quite a few lakes I fish on it. I was wondering if these lake maps are just copies of the original MNR charts or if they actually did new surveys? I know the charts are very helpful to jog your memory, but miss an awful lot of structure. Are the chip maps any better?

Are there any better choices for Ontario than this chip as far as detailed contours? I'm not so interested in LOTW, Eagle, and Rainy as I am in Lac Seul and the English River system above it.

I spent a tremendous amount of time with the folks from Navionics this weekend and from what I got to see, use and hear from the guys who actually spend the time on the water and help build these chips, the Platinum chips reflect major advancements! They were really good looking! I'll email a contact or two and see what they say in regards to Lac Seul and the English River.
