Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Thinking about ordering some double 10s from a site that allows you to mix and match blade and tail colors and it got me thinking about color contrasts. I've done really well on black/orange and black and chartruese in the past, but what are some contrast combinations that you guys and gals have seen past catches on? Not only for 'tails but for body baits also. |

| Stamina stuck me with 40 black blades in 06 instead of silver ones. We caught a ton on 1 white/1 black blade combos with almost any color skirts. 1 blue/1 silver skirt, 1 gold/1 silver, and all red with 1 red and 1 black blade.
The one in my blurry photo to the left ate the blue/silver-black/white blades

Location: madison wisconsin | White or pearl tail w/2 chart blades. Seems like Saric has had some luck with them too.

| Slamr, Google "Color Wheel". They will show you contrasting and complimenting colors, and will show you some combos that you normally wouldn't think of. I'll see if I have a link to one that I got from my sister that she uses in their graphic design office.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Gotta agree w/ Beav 100%. Use the colorwheel and pick colors on the opposite side of the wheel for blades and when you want a high contrast bait. Purple tail/Chart blade or Purple/Bright Orange has been killer in a bloom. A red blade over a green or perch skirt has been killer clear water.

Good ‘ole creamsicle color – Orange and White. Turns out to be as good in clear water as it is in tanic/dark water
Humfh! Red and green…that is a hideous color pattern but if Will says it’s good that’s good enough for me. Apparently those fish in MI are color blind, or dumb!

Location: Norway | And one are usually colorblind (or weak as i prefer to call it, I can see colors...) on the complimentary colors, a guy I know is struggeling with blue and yellow
And for colors on bait, I was surprised how well chart blades on deep red flashaboul worked (for pike here offcourse)
I also like to divide my baits, vertical stripes on a long "horisontal" shaped bait.

Location: Wauwatosa, Wisconsin | When i go up to northern wisconsin and fish i love throwing chartuese/bronze blades with a black and chartuese skirts. When i throw big plastics i love throwing walleye patterns up north because of the high population of walleyes in most of those lakes in northern wisconsin. also crankbaits and jerkbaits with perch patterns. Down here in southeastern wisconsin i love throwing bright colored baits like firetiger baby depthraiders and number 8 llungen tails with a multi green skirt and silver blades. Bright colors are a plus on pewaukee but sometimes you gotta throw the oppisite of what everyone else is throwing to get that one bite during the day. |
