| The one-eyed willy works very similar to a weagle or a homewrecker. It sits low in the water like the above mentioned baits and has a deep swoosh. It is not a high riding topwater like a jackpot. They are very easy to use. I have used many different types of walk the dog baits, maybe 10 or 15, and the one-eyed willy is by far the most foolproof/easy to use that I can recall. If you have had trouble hooking muskies on other walk the dawg baits, give this one a try. It sits low in the water and comes with the best hooks available. Eagle Claw 5/0s. |
|
|
|
Location: The Yahara Chain | It pushes a ton of water. It stays down on the surface and is very easy to work. It doesn't pop up like a Jackpot.
The eye looks very cool and makes it easy to track 'Cyclops'.
I helped test them last summer and it is a great lure. Another home run for Brad.
I believe the hooks are VMC's, at least the ones on mine are as they are 7/0's. Eagle Claw doesn't make a 7/0.

| Yes, they are heavier than a Weagle. I haven't thrown one yet put have put them in the minnie tank to test the flotation. Closest I've seen to the Original Weagles. Another tool! |

Another bait modeled after the Weagle. Pretty innovative |

| Yeah but the weagle was modeled after alot of other baits. That's the way it works, you find something that works and you try and make it better. |
|
|
|
| not the same he have one eye only |
|

| Brad Schultz is definitely an innovator.
not necessarily with this bait, as i bet he himself would freely admit, but his tinkering and designs with globes and creepers is second to none; he's a genius with wing design and tuning. he looks at some basic bait designs and tries to find ways to make them better.
imho, there's not much room to improve on the Weagle, but i know Brad's been having fun playing around with testing out his own version.
he's not looking to put anybody out of business, as his bait-making is much more focused on experimenting and the hobbyist side of things. the Weagle will always be the gold standard in large walk-the-dog baits.

| I don't have any 8"weagles, so I cant compare those. But its the length of a homewrecker, and notacibly fatter than a 10" weagle. |

Fatter than a 10" Weagle...WOW
Brad does some awesome things with baits. Love his creepers...the sound he gets those wings to make is just the best |

Location: Montreal, Que. Canada | I wonder if the 10" weagle has a better hooking percentage being thinner though I bet the long shank hooks help.

| I got a bunch of one eyed willy's to use last year in my opinion they hooked much better than a weagle. I think they move more water and are easyer to use also. Both Rollie's and Dorn's Midvale in Madison have them. They put a pile of fish in my boat last year.
Thanks,
Jeff Hanson

The first ones were all black so most of the fish were caught on that. In the fall I got some of the Black and gold and black and orange both worked well. At last light or realy dark or rainy I like the all black first. Other wise I like the ones with belly color if its bright out to show some contrast. Hope that helped. Also caught fish in the total darkness on the black ones
Thanks,
Jeff Hanson

| I guess I'll contradict my comment about them being fatter than a 10" weagle.
I bought 1 today and they are a little smaller than the 1 I got from Brad last year. The black 1 must have been a prototype, as all the ones in the store were the the white ones size.

| i have not seen the fat one in action but he look better |
|
|
|
Location: The Yahara Chain | Jason, Brad had several versions last year while testing them. He came to the conclusion that the one he has in production this year was the best runner.
I had three of them last year to fish with and they were all different. I got my hands on a production model late in November and did throw it around for awhile late in the season.....great bait......almost as good as his Belly Dancer.

I really can't see how they can hook "MUCH BETTER THAN A WEAGLE" Weagles have a pretty good hook-up percentage! |
