What is the best kind of bait to use in the middle of spring? Im talking about 60-70 degrees out of the water and about 40-55 degrees in the water? Any Suggestions on landing a fish of a lifetime?

water temps in the low forties would be early spring...For pre-spawn females (your fish of a lifetime) I have had success with baits that suspend ..pause the bait. Water temps in the low to mid 50's is spawning time...you will have your best luck then with dynamite.

Glad to see you boys with an interest in learning to catch Musky. Asking questions is what it's all about, as we all were just starting once.
One thing to keep in mind about Musky is they are a warm water fish. Their metabolism is at it's peak when the water gets into the 70's, and they'll be willing to chase faster moving baits then.
But if the water is still in the low 50's, a slower presentation would be the way to start---usually. Twitch baits can be good for that. Something like a 6"-7" Big Game, or a Grandma.
Don't be afraid to ask somebody in your local tackle shop, as they'll know what works on your lake and when.
