What length rod handle does everyone prefer and why?

15 or 16" For me it's the perfect length for ease of casting. Feels natural. Standard 13" feels odd and uncomfortable

18. I have long arms (size 37 sleeve length on dress shirts). I also palm my reels all the time. The extra length allows me to bury the rod butt under my arm instead of bruising ribs when I set the hook. I have had too many bruised ribs to use standard length butt sections as many days here used to be multiple fish days.

15" for tucking under my arm while retrieving. Makes for easy casting too!

I prefer 16" on a 9 foot rod. The extra makes casting easier. A 15" length works OK too for rods ranging from 8' to 9' If you're having a custom rod done also consider a flared end on the butt. All my rods are from Thorne' and the flared butt section they do is sweet.
