| the 3Oth doesn't have a levelwind. I believe the pickup on the 3Oth is low 3os in terms of line pickup. The 4O size has the 47" line pickup. I'm also debating which size. I'm leaning towards the STTLW40HA which is the 4O size with the higher gear ratio. |

Correct, the 30TH has no levelwind. It's rated at 47.2"/crank. Specs are below. 47.2" per crank. Here's the link also.

| That's interesting that the 3O levelwind retrieves 12" less per handle turn than the 3O non-levelwind. The gear ratio difference is 6.4:1 on non-levelwind and 6.1:1 on the levelwind. Maybe somebody that knows more about these reels than I do can explain the difference. |

| I have the 40 non levelwind and would recommend it. I'm guessing the 40 levelwind would even be a better set up.
