Thought I would see what people are up too this year. Can be open water coming later or on the ice now?

Just curious whats the popular trend this year amoung the people reading this forum and Canada? What lakes/outfitters/time of year? etc etc. Are most of you already booked in to go somewhere or waiting to make reservations yet this year? Feel free to share, just wondering where everyone is heading this year. Will this be your first time to this lake your going too or been there before?

Hope everyone that comes this year enjoys they're trip and what Canada has to offer. If you have any questions about Canada, does not even have to reguard the outfit I'm with, feel free to ask and I'll gladly give some answers about any Canadian issues or lakes or my 2 cents on a topic.

My maiden voyage to LOTW at Witch Bay Camp the first week of August. I've already been pouring over my Canadian hydro map of the area - only 4 1/2 months to go!

Was at AML two years ago for my first Canadian trip and it's every bit as good as everyone says. My buddy wanted to check out LOTW, but I'll be back. Not that I'm complaining.

Casting,

The biggest one any of the guests has reported catching was a 57", that was caught on a June trip. The same guy came back in late september and said he had one followup that quite a bit bigger than that one. Of course you hear stories all the time of huge fish follows, but this guy knows his muskies and has been fishing them for 25 years - so he has a bit of credibility.

Hey Troy,

Nice to hear from you, things are going good on this end the rebuild is slowly coming along HLL should be ready for a 2010 opening.
Camp Manitou made huge stides last year, we built 3 new cabins, new docks, boats, and bought an Outpost on the lake.

FishHateMe,

Enjoy your time at Witch Bay Camp. That's the best-run multi-species fishing camp I've stayed at. Be sure to spend at least a little time fishing for walleyes. You won't be disappointed.

The couple times I've been there have been in early August. Both times I ran into crushing hot weather that slowed the muskie bite down, but we still got a few. Nothing bigger than 45", but we lost one over 50". It's not a numbers are for muskies, but it's definitely easier than the trout water in Whitefish Bay.

Because it was so hot, the pike bite was off for us, but I know people do really well there when the surface temps are a bit lower.

Crow is trout water---very, very, very, very clear....clearest I've been on. You can see bottom even in deep water. Natural colors best. Beautiful water---enjoy.
