Subject: Flourcarbon vs. other leaders


What advantages does flourcarbon give you (besides being harder to see) over conventional wire leaders. Also do you use it for all of your lures or what.

130# or 150# flouro for everything but jerks and WTD topwaters. My personal preference. I like the durability and don't care about it being 'invisible' to the fish. Wire leaders kink , and during a season on the water , would go through 100 as opposed to a handful of flouro, maybe. I'll still go through a dozen 174# wire leaders for the above mentioned baits, although I fish them considerably less.

As Steve said, wire leaders get bent up and ruined very fast compared to fluorocarbon! I pretty much use it for everything anymore! click on my link below for stealth tackle and John will fix you up with the best fluorocarbon leaders you can buy! (MyOpinion) John uses the best of everything on his leaders!
