Musky Tournaments

This is my first year as a musky fishing and noticed many musky tournaments. Though I am far from every being able to fish one of these tournaments I was wondering how they work. Obviously they can't have weighins at the end of the day at a out of water weigh in. Does each team measure their own fish or are there multiple officials boating around on the water waiting to be contacted or is it all done on the honor system? Does any of these tournaments make it on the air on any tv stations? Just curious on how it all works. Thanks.

Not every tournament is run the same......

Beleive it or not there are some tournaments that transport fish and weigh them.

Your ready for a tounament, just get one and have fun, So much of it is just luck, being in the right place at the rigt time, Thank god I have been pretty lucky. You'll meet a great bunch of guys and learn alot from them. I have alsi fished walleye tournaments and enjoy the open attitudes f the musky anglers so much more. Try one and you'll see. The eagle river musky alliance tournament a good one to start. reasonable fee, fun and just for trophies.
