Location: Kronenwetter, WI | My usual stop is R-n-H, but made it to Blaine for a soccer tourney last summer and FINALLY made it to Thorne's and was VERY impressed. The staff there was VERY knowledgeable and set me up with some nice TDRs with custom tips. I was really impressed the amount of product they're able to put in the square footage of that place...
Was down to Smokey's once and thought it was a nice shop with alot of character. |

Location: Not Where I Want To Be | Not sure how many guys can say this but during my travels yesterday i hit Guides Choice, Kurt's on the Island, and Rollie and Helens. Then got up this morning and headed south stopped at Aquatic Arts in Tomahawk Then proceded south to Stevens Point to have lunch with my Daughter to find myself googling if there was any Decent tackle shops in Point. (Which i failed to find)
As far as a favorite i think each one has a strong point. I spend my fair share at the Sportsmen since it's the closest to me. But have no problem supporting the other shops up north seeing i 'm paying taxes up there also.
Each shop i visited in the last two days got $$$ out of me.

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | I second Thornes for the whole package but I voted for Smokey's Muskie Shop because its my club house. Everything you need with great people to help you get what you need. If I need it John will get it. Thats service. Why go anywhere else.
I share tons of info with Smokeys and they share that with everyone who asks for lake info. Most of the local guides share info and Smokeys is the "Barber Shop" or "Monkey Island" of Pewaukee Lake. |

| Honestly my favorite place is not on that list, at a musky show. Basically a combination of all of those with the addition of tons of lure companies and top guides all in one place....Heaven |

Aaron seems to really care about the customers.
Of course, Thorne Bros get some business on my way to Canada each year. Always enjoying stopping there and spending some money.

| I also like the fact that at MTO you can see All the colors that are available for a bait that you want to purchase. Helps in the decision making process and leaves out any potential surprises on color schemes.

| MTO. Thanks Aaron, you do a great job! Thinking about making an order soon. The urge is getting stronger as we near the 2009 season.
Reeds in Onamia is my #2 choice.

Location: WI | Thornes and R&H are both awesome. Pastikas in Hayward is pretty good, and there's another one there (forgot the name) that isn't too bad either. It's been years since I've been to R&H, maybe I"ll get bored and drive over there (3hrs) one of these days before spring. |

Location: Browerville, Minnesota | Put my vote in for R&H's but only because it wouldn't let me vote for two. My other would be MTO. I don't live near any decent bait shops that are less than 2 hours, so I order the majority of my stuff online. These are the two best by far. Why bother driving when these two will take care of you just like you were standing there!!! |

| I put MTO because he runs the best website with the best servive! In my opinion that is. I do a lot of shopping at thornes as I go through the cities on my way north and love it. I also do a big order or two out of Rollie and Helens catalog every year as they have the biggest selection and really good service... basically it was hard to pick just one =). |

Aaron and MTO can't be beat on prices. Service is top quality. Delivery is dependable and the missus has used the Gift Certificate feature on a couple of happy occasions. (i.e. Father's Day + Stink Pickle = 50+" p.b.)

| Rollie And Helen's is the best bait & tackle shop I have ever been to. They have fantastic equipment and are always so friendly! We always have the best customer service and to me that goes a long ways. I can't believe how the owner is actually in the store so often and working right with his employees...he is so nice!
We love their new website and the fact that they finally have some toddler clothing! My 2 son LOVES his Musky shop stocking hats - he has one in every color!
So I guess what I am saying is - THEY GET MY VOTE! |

| I added Reeds to the list. Thorne Brothers is my first choice for the selection, the best custom rods, and the knowledgable staff. Thorne's is a great store. I get a little sick thinking of how much money I must have spent there over the years.
I added Reeds because they opened a new location last year on the SW side of Mille Lacs. That location was trip-saver many, many times last season. While staying on the lake in the summer, there's never time to run to Thorne's or order online. For the last-minute or emergency items, it was Reeds to the rescue over and over last year. Though they aren't a full-blown musky shop, I was surprised by the inventory they cover - lots of selection. One of the managers, Lee, is a super wizard with electronics and helped my de-bug a couple glitches last year. Best of all for visitors to the area, they really know what's happening on the lake. For someone who's on the lake almost every day, I was surprised how much those guys knew about what the lake was doing. On a couple occassions, information I got from them about what the perch fishermen were doing actually helped me with musky fishing. Their main store is in Walker which is good for anyone fishing the Leech Lake area. The Mille Lacs store is good for me. |

Location: north central wisconsin | Another vote for Ross's. Not because they are the biggest shop, or even where I get most of my gear, but because they are my favorite, which was the question. Been going there since a wee lad. Then, in college days, would have live sucker and bulk line iou's tacked up in there till some cash fell my way on the following weekend. Heck, where else can you go buy a Bobbie Bait, a couple wild suckers, 20' of anchor rope, a tub of wax worms, a Kit Kat, a used .22 pistol, and a half dozen arrows, all in the same isle??

| Gander Mountain in Washington Pa.! We don't have alot of muskie shops around SW. Pa., But Skip down at Gander, puts out a really nice selection for us few die hard muskie nuts. I have never been to one of the huge shops up in the North country. But for this area, its our Rollie & Helens! Great job Skip! Keep up the good work!

| One time I dropped a wad of about $800 cash while in Thorne Bros' shop. It was found and turned in and they had it all in an envelope at the register at opening the next morning. Guy at the counter totally refused to accept my $50 expression of appreciation. Gotta like that. |

| the fishing connecting in Tinley Park, IL is my favorite.i used to live really close to the place(walking distance) and i walked down there all the time. it was before i moved to wisconsin and became a musky fisherman so i didnt buy much musky stuff there, mostly bass, but i got my first two musky lures from that place. and the guys there are awesome too. for being in a Chicago suburb, its one hell of a tackel shop! i wish that it was here in musky land!! |

| Just a personal note here. I'd like to thank the voters for the strong vote of confidence that you exhibited in R&H Musky Shop. There's a lot that goes into running a musky specific store and all the dealers listed do a fine job. In addition to just providing baits and tackle there are the multitude of other factors that go into the business. Consider exhibiting at shows, supporting musky clubs and tournaments, providing advice and direction on purchases, in store help, etc. Heck the other day one of our guys spent nearly a half hour teaching someone how to make leaders over the phone. We appreciate the fact that times are tough for a lot of folks right now and try to do everything possible to make your shopping experience worth the effort. Thanks again and good luck to all this season. |

Location: Bloomington, IL | MTO gets my vote. Aaron's service is phenonimal - he gets items shipped out right away, and will do what he can to accomodate you. On top of his great prices, how can you beat free shipping on orders $50 or more?
3 lures will take care of that. MTO rocks! |
