I've heard rumors about a bigger super d for 09.' Maybe something comparable to a Pounder? Has anyone heard of this, and if so what do they weigh exactly? Also, is plain white or walleye org./tail not color choices for super ds? They should be. Thanks.

A few weeks ago James mentioned that in around 10 weeks he'd be introducing new lures. I can't wait to see them and hope he has a pounder super D!

I'm sure James will be along to update us before too long, but here is a link that talks about his Mega D (Pounder size). http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=45...
I think he has something like 42 colors in his new lineup. Not sure if the ones you want will be in there or not. I'm excited to see what the new baits look like!

42 colors in 2 weights for the new MEGA-D. So that will be 84 SKUs alone just for the MEGA-D lure. Hope that will keep you busy for a while Should have them out by spring. I had to scrap all the molds and start over. I did not like the tail area on the first designs. Looked good on paper but not once a few got pumped out. Also changed the harness a little. more weld points to hold the monster coil on and also upped the wire gauge a little to keep here straight and steady.

You split ring junkies will really like this too! Since I had to wait on these, I have spent the last 6 weeks locating "special" wire to make my new split rings with. Tested some today and got about 150lbs of pull rating out of a double ring!!! I plan on using all triple split rings on all the new lures so the pull rating will be off the charts for a no-name/no-brand split ring. All about specifications and sourcing the right stuff! Got to keep my competition on the run and in my dust! lol

Back to work.

I may have to hold off on buying some mag dawgs at the Ohio show and wait for all these super D's to come out. I have 2 regular super d's and one mag super d. Caught 3 fish on them this fall and I am very impressed with how they hold up.

Thanks Guest. I think you will be happy with the prices for the New MEGA-Ds too. Much less than the $30 vs some of the current big rubber out there.

Tacklebooty = Big Tease! Man I can't wait to get some big-uns...

Add those to my list with a couple more Mag-D's and I need a few more 11" Curly Sues... then I should be set.

LOL, want more of a tease! Getting about 20 emails a week from guys who are not happy with me not making a Shallow Mag. Reason was that I did not feel the harness was strong enough. Just got done making a new harness just for the shallow Mag version and I think it is rock solid! Can't promise anything but I think you guys will actually see SEVEN SuperD lines now in 42 to possibly 60 stock colors in 2009!!! Got some great color ideas in the last few weeks and also from a lot of customers over the last year.

I also need to thank my buddy Dennis as he has really helped me out in the last few weeks make these decisions to expand out and almost double my SuperD line AGAIN! If not for his help over the last 18 months and especially the last month I would only have 10 colors in 2 sizes for the SuperD line and I would actually be a big trolling bait company right now. Thanks man I owe you! And stop asking me for monster $9.99 tube baits! Those may come soon too.

James

Any idea when these megaD's and the shallow mags might be available. That's going to be one nice order.

I am shooting for Mid May if all goes well. Good news is, no more glitches in the new Gen III molds, split rings, new colors, packaging, etc. I am finally very happy with the new Gen III SuperDs. They could have been out on Oct. 1 2008 but I held off due to some small issues which turned out to be real time burners for me... I had to source new plastisol (BASF) and some real special spring tempered super strong wire for the split rings that took me longer than I wanted to. Just wait until you see them, from the super strong split rings to the new colors, plastisol and harnesses. No price increases either
Thanks

Thanks! I price my lures depending on the COGS and not the max I think I can get for them. I know I am leaving money on the table but I also know I am getting new customers by helping them save money Trying to keep the Mega-Ds at or under $25. Its hard as I have my flat rate shipping on all of my site and these heavy lures add up quick on shipping costs in the USA and global.

I would love to make rods for big lures but I just don't have time right now. In another 3 months I will have about 25 lure lines up and running. If you saw my house you would bust a gut laughing. Too bad my wife does not find it funny anymore She said it stopped being a "hobby" after we had to park our vehicles outside this winter. Rods may come someday but that is a tough market to compete in.
