Have you guys ever changed out the trailer hook to a treble? I'm assuming it helps with hookup, but does it also make it more prone to weeds?

It's hard to hook fish with a single hook sometimes, but once they're stuck they usually stay pinned. The treble hook kinda defeats the purpose of using a spinnerbait. It is what it is.

Been using a treble many times on a spinnerbait. Deep weed edges, and over sand and rock. Especially at night. Attach the treble to a barrel swivel, and the fish kisses your lure, she is yours!!! She can twist and turn 360, 720,1080, she still is yours. Been building spinnerbaits with trebles for years. Some lakes have a ripable wimpy weeds. Some lakes have very durable thick weeds.
Application is the key whether you use a treble or a single hook. Have an idea on what you want to accomplish, and go with it
