I was wondering if anyone caught this past Saturday's Musky Hunter show. I noticed that Jim Saric was using a rod that only had part of a cork handle. It looked like the butt end had about 3" of cork on the handle and then didn't have any cork the rest of the way almost to the real seat. I know Saric uses St. Croix rods, and was wondering which model it was and what advantage this rod has with this odd looking handle.

This type of grip was first used in bass rods and is starting to make its way to muskie rods. The reason for this from what I hear is to cut back on uneccesary weight off of the rod, it also gives you a new and unique type of grip on the rod. Sorry i dont know what model it was but look it up on the st.croix website.

I think all the LTM rods have a split grip as an option this year
