We are very saddened to loose one of our best friends and fellow Muskie Guide.
Adam LaPorte 37 from Superior, WI along with his Dog Bailey, were going out on the St. Louis River Saturday Morning, Ice fishing and his truck fell through the ice and was not able to be saved.
For those who knew him he was one of the most decicated muskie fisherman and would always give the shirt off his back to help you out.

Adam is survived by his wonderful girlfriend Angie, her kids, his parents, his brother & two sisters.

He will be missed by all that knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends & family.

Love you man, see you in Muskie Heaven

I had to pull over when Dusty called me Saturday. I met Adam on a Vermilion trip 4 years ago, and we've kept up since. Either my boat, or his, he always had time to 'jump in'. I am not alone in that I owe alot to him for his unselfishness. Though I only knew him a short time, it was evident early on that he had a rare/special fishing 'mind'. Our first meeting on the west end of V, where I was camped with 'Uncle Bill'(as Adam called him) had us talking strategy till wee hours. He was one of the few that had 'it', reinforced by the quiet and consistant production on waters all over WI, MN and LOTW.

Be it taking his time to mark a map, lend a piece of forgotten equipment, or offering a place to crash on the way to or from a long fishing trip, he was there for us the past couple years. We are saddened by the loss of our new friend, but our thoughts/prayers go especially out to Ang, her kids, his family, and his guide buds.

Bad new's, My prayers are with his family and friends.
I met him this summer, and all though I didn't get to know him very long, he seemed like a very good person.....Someone you'd trust and want to hang out with....... God Bless you Adam.

A Great guy for sure.
Please be careful out on the Ice this time of the year.

My prayers are out to his family and friends. Always a tradegy to loose somebody, especially so unexpected. Never knew Adam but I am a Duluth/Superior native musky angler; sad to see someone go from the local community.
